The employed person will be involved in the implementation of tasks related to the preparation and modification of silver nanowires and their physicochemical characterization.  The duties of the employee will also include the research on photocatalytic activity of silver nanowires covered with metal oxides deposited on various substrates and other tasks related to the implementation of the project. More information about the project can be found at:  https://www.researchgate.net/project/Fibrous-structures-with-a-hyhy-meta....

Candidate must have a PhD degree in chemical sciences, materials science, physics or related sciences and specialize in the field of nanotechnology and/or surface engineering. The preferred topic of the doctoral dissertation or current scientific activity should be connected with the synthesis, characterization and research of practical applications of metallic nanostructures or metal oxides. Experiments in conducting photocatalysis research will also be an advantage.

Candidate must have documented scientific achievements in the form of at least four publications in internationally recognized journals, of which at least two must be the first author or have documented leading authorship. Richer scientific achievements will be an advantage.

Candidate should have practical experience and theoretical preparation to work with the following research techniques: electron microscopy, FT-IR and Raman spectroscopy. Skills in other techniques for characterizing nanomaterials are highly welcome.

1. Synthesis of silver nanostructures (nanoparticles and nanowires)

2. Modification of synthesized nanostructures with oxide coatings

3. Characterization of the obtained materials - with particular emphasis on SEM microscopy

4. Deposition and characterization of coatings made of nanostructures on various substrates, especially on fibrous materials

 5. Investigation of photocatalytic activity of prepared materials

6. Assistance in carrying out other tasks resulting from the project

 7. Preparation of publications from the results of research workIt is expected that candidate will have interpersonal skills such as the ability to work in a team and a common creative approach to solving problems, involvement in scientific work and creating a good atmosphere inside the team.
