This studentship incorporates:
- a research training master's degree in the first year, followed by Business Management PhD, or
- MSc Economics (in first year) and MRes in Advanced Economics (in the second year), followed by a two-year Economics PhD.
What is funded
We cover all fees for UK/EU and International applicants.
Maintenance stipend: Doctoral stipend matching UK Research Council National Minimum for UK/EU applicants. Doctoral stipend capped at £6,000 for overseas awards.
Additional funding offered: All PhD students at Cardiff Business School have access to a fieldwork allowance to support the completion of their studies.
Residency: Open to all students of any nationality without restrictions (UK/EU and International)
Academic criteria: You should have an excellent academic background in the social sciences or economics, holding a first class or strong upper second class degree, and preferably a specialist master’s degree with distinction related to the area of PhD study.
In addition, international students are normally expected to have reached a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 (writing scored at 7.0, with no sub-score less than 6.5). Copies of appropriate English language certificates must be supplied with your application.
