Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Wrocław announces competition for the position of assistant professor in the Emission Electronics Department of the Institute of Experimental Physics (research and teaching position).

A person who meets the conditions set out in the Act on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws No. 2018, item 1668, as amended) may enter the competition.

 

Eligibility criteria

Candidates should submit the following documents:

  1. application for employment to the Rector of the University of Wrocław,
  2. CV,
  3. personal questionnaire
  4. self-report containing the characteristics of previous scientific and teaching experiences as well as other achievements in the field of organization and popularization of science,
  5. list of scientific publications,
  6. copy of doctor's diploma or copy of the resolution on conferring a doctoral degree,
  7. at least one opinion on the scientific, didactic and organizational achievements written by a person engaged in scientific activity possessing the degree of habilitated doctor or the title of professor in the field of interest of the candidate or in a related field,
  8. written statement (in the case of employment) that the University of Wrocław will be the primary place of work within the meaning of the Law on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018 (Journal of Laws No. 2018, item 1668, as amended).

 

The following should be added on the application: "I consent to the processing of my personal data for the purposes of organizing and conducting the competition and providing information on the results of the competition. I acknowledge that the administrator of personal data is the University of Wrocław, plac Uniwersytecki 1, 50-137 Wrocław. I have knowledge that providing data is voluntary, but necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected (in accordance with the Act of 10 May 2018 on the protection of personal data, Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1000)."

 

Selection process

The documents should be submitted to the secretary of the Institute of Experimental Physics of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Wrocław, pl. Maksa Borna 9, 50-204 Wrocław, room 286.

 

Additional comments

The competition will be settled by June 15, 2020.

In the absence of a suitable candidate, it is allowed to leave the position vacant.

Umiejętności/Kwalifikacje

  • Documented predispositions for research (scientific publications from the list A of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education) and teaching (conducting classes with university students);
  • Knowledge of selected experimental methods of surface physics: Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), low-energy electron diffraction (LEED), X-ray electron spectroscopy (XPS), including the ability to independently carry out measurements under ultra-high vacuum;
  • Fluent Polish and English;
  • Skills and knowledge useful for conducting classes in the field of Applied Computer Science and Measurement Systems (e.g. efficient operation of 'SolidWorks' software)
