As of August 2nd, 2021, the residence documents issued to citizens of the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein and Switzerland and their family members will have a new format of a plastic residence card (similar to the residence card of third country citizens). The purpose of this change is to unify the documents, improve their quality and security. The application form templates have also been modified.
The residence documents issued up to August 1st , 2021, remain in force throughout their validity period, however not longer than until August 3rd, 2026.
