Johannes Kepler University Linz and the University of Applied Arts Vienna founded the inter-university Art x Science School for Transformation in 2023. The school combines the strengths and expertise of both universities with the aim of addressing the urgent transformation issues of our time and shaping transdisciplinary, future-oriented teaching and research. We are looking to strengthen our team at the JKU as soon as possible with a Senior Scientist holding a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree.
Job Duties:
- Participation in the strategic development of the Art x Science School for Transformation
- Participation in the organisation and further development of the courses offered in the Bachelor's and PhD programme Transformation Studies. Art x Science
- Contributing to the further development of both curricula and supporting the coordination processes
- Exchange/networking with lecturers in the programme, researchers from both universities and relevant external stakeholders
- Contribution to the inter- and transdisciplinary research agenda along the School's mission on topics such as current transformation processes / interweaving of art & science / transdisciplinarity
- Development of research funding applications
- Teaching as part of the Bachelor's programme and Ph.D. programme
- Planning, development, management and realisation of projects, events and cooperation projects
- Communication and public relations work for Art x Science School for Transformation projects
Your Qualifications:
- The successful candidate must hold a completed Doctorate / Ph.D. degree
- Several years of professional experience, preferably also in the scientific and university sector
- Experience in the initiation, submission and monitoring of national and European research funding projects
- Structured and analytical approach, strong realisation skills and a high degree of independence
- Affinity for art, science and research with a focus on innovation, inter- and transdisciplinarity and transformation
- Experience and expertise in change management methods and/or transformation studies
- Erfahrung in der Konzeption und Realisierung von wissenschaftlichen und künstlerischen Vermittlungsprogrammen
- Ideally: Experience in the development of study programmes or curricula and the implementation of quality management
- Experience in the supervision of theses (BA)
- Interface competence and communication skills with high linguistic mediation skills
- Excellent written and spoken German and above all English (level C1)
- Willingness to learn, quick comprehension and a proactive, cooperative way of working
- High level of commitment and sense of responsibility
- Enjoy working in a team and have a high level of social skills
- Willingness for further and advanced training
What We Offer:
- On the basis of full-time employment (40 hours/week) the minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is € 4,932.90 gross per month (14 x per year, CA Job Grade: B1)
