The new "Choose Europe for Science"initiative promotes the advantages of conducting research in Europe, including access to funding through Horizon Europe, supportive mobility schemes and the vibrant ecosystem of universities, research centres, and innovative industries.
President Ursula von der Leyen hihglighted EURAXESS as a concrete example of how the EU is facilitating researcher mobility by linking researchers worldwide with thousands of jobs and grants in Europe, providing relocation support and career guidance.
"Choose Europe for Science" package includes for instance €2 million in additional funding to support start-up costs for ERC Advanced Grants, the introduction of the ERC Super Grant providing extended funding durations of seven years, and the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Choose Europe for Science Pilot. Also an additional €230 million call under the Horizon Europe to fund ERA Chairs in underperforming regions, aiming to bring in up to 120 high-level researchers.
To make it easier for researchers to navigate the variety of available funding opportunities, EURAXES now features a dedicated section with national and regional funding opportunities across the European Union. This resource will be continuously updated to support researchers who are considering relocating to Europe.
