A call is open to award a research grant within the scope of Investment Programme RE-C05-i03 - Research and Innovation Agenda for Sustainability in Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness No. 14/C05-i03/2021 - PRR-C05-i03-I-000166 | R&D+I Projects Research and Innovation Projects - Excellence of Production Organization, for the project "Agrovila - Organisation of family farming through digital processes for the development of short agrifood circuits", of the Center for Organizational and Social Studies of Polytechnic of Porto (CEOS.PP). The AGROVILA Project aims to provide family farmers with digital processes and tools to improve the sale of products

Additional Information
The monthly amount of each grant corresponds to 930,98 euros (nine hundred and thirty euros and ninety-eight cents), according to FCT's current table of values (https://www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Tabela-de-Valores-SMM_2023.pdf), and is paid monthly, in accordance with the P.PORTO Research Grants Regulations, according to the Request for Authorization of Expenditure (PAD) no. ISCAP5449. To the amount of the grant is added the payment of Voluntary Social Insurance (SSV) in the amount of 142,21 euros, as foreseen in n º 4 and 5 of Article 10 of the Research Grant Holder Statute.
In accordance with Article 19 of the Regulation of Research Grants from P.PORTO, are also charges of the CEOS.PP the payment of any allowances for travel, lodging, and meals for travels in the country, abroad, and to other countries, authorized or determined by CEOS.PP and related to the work plan mentioned above. The payments of these charges are made under the conditions foreseen in the regime practiced by ISCAP/P.PORTO, namely in the regime of daily allowance applicable to public sector workers, being ISCAP/P.PORTO responsible for assessing the respective legality.
Preferred factors:

- Ability to speak in public and dialogue with people with all types of education.
The selection methods to be used are:
- Curriculum Assessment, with a weighting of 50%;
- Interview, with a weighting of 50%, which will be applied to the first six candidates in the Curricular Assessment, in descending order of classification. The interview may be held by videoconference.
The respective evaluation parameters are:
a) In the Curricular Assessment:
- Experience of working in research team(s) (up to 8 points): the number of projects, their duration, roles assumed, activities performed are valued;
- Professional experience (up to 10 points);
- Quality of two relevant academic works or relevant scientific articles (up to 2 points).
b) Interview: aims to assess behavioural aspects, namely those related to knowledge of languages and comunication (Portuguese and English) (uo to 2 points), autonomy and proactivity (up to 2 points), interpersonal relationship skills (up to 2 points) and problem-solving skills (up to 2 points), and also to assess the candidate's scientific knowledge of data modelling (12 points).
Candidates are excluded from the competition on the following grounds:
- if (s)he does not possess the general and specific requirements required in point 2;
- If (s)he obtains less than 8 in the evaluation of modelation skills and less than 9,5 points in the interview;
- If (s)he misses the interview.
If the tie remains, the Jury will hold a vote in which all members will vote. In case of a new tie, the President of the Jury will have the casting vote.
The call is open for 10 working days, from announcement publication.
Applications must be formalized by filling out the electronic application form, which is available in the Applications System, at https://www.iscap.ipp.pt/concursos/pessoal, and submitting it by the deadline together with the following mandatory documents:
a) Curriculum Vitae;
b) Copy(s) of the relevant articles and academic papers (or information about them in DOI form);
c) Proof(s) of the entity(ies) where the research team work(s) was (were) carried out;
d) Certification of the degree of bachelor with, at least, the final average/classification and the date of conclusion; if the degree course(s) was (were) taken at a foreign higher education institution, the record(s) of recognition of the academic degree(s) is (are) also required, or alternatively declaration of honour from the applicant that he/she has already obtained the recognition of the foreign degree equivalent to master or doctorate, whose record(s) of recognition of the academic degree(s) must be submitted until the date of contracting the scholarship;
e) Proof of enrolment in a cycle of studies leading to the award of a master's degree or in a course that does not confer a master's degree (the courses referred to in paragraph e) of No. 3 of Article 4 of Decreto de Lei Number 74/2006, 24 March, as amended). The granting of the grant is subject to the existence of a valid registration within a maximum period of six months from the date of communication of approval in the scientific evaluation, under the terms of article 9, no. 2 of the PORTO Research Grants Regulations;
f) Declaration, under oath, stating that:
- has taken note of the Regulations of Research Grants of P.PORTO, and that he undertakes to comply with them;
- does not exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, an accumulated period of two years in this type of scholarship, consecutive or interpolated, if the student does not confer academic degree.
Failure to submit documents e) and f) will be grounds for exclusion from the competition. If the documents indicated in points b) to d) are not presented, then the respective curricular information will not be counted in the application of the Curricular Evaluation selection method.
