Job description

We are seeking to appoint an Associate Professor of Nursing, with a national profile in relation to nursing and healthcare education and a growing international portfolio of relevant research and scholarship. It is an exciting time to join the School of Health and Social Care with continuous expansion across the various areas in the school. We aim to make an enduring impact on health, care and society in Scotland and beyond,  and to deliver this, we know it's our people that make the difference. We are passionate about recruiting, retaining and developing the best staff, who are pivotal to our continual drive for excellence in our world-leading education and research.

If you are passionate about the nursing profession, preparing future nurses, and supporting the enhancement of learning and teaching across all of our School programmes, then this is the role for you!  You will be joining a vibrant academic team who work with other colleagues across the school as part of a supportive, collaborative interprofessional community. We will expect you to represent us nationally and internationally as a nurse education ambassador for the School and University.  We are particularly interested in hearing from colleagues with expertise in the fields of mental health and intellectual/learning disabilities.

You will also provide mentorship to early career academics.

You will be supported in the role to further develop your own academic career on the Learning and Teaching or Professional Practice Academic Pathway, through access to a range of resources available to all University staff and through a coaching approach to personal development. We work in an inclusive way and can support flexible working.

If you’re excited at the prospect of joining our fantastic interprofessional team as an Associate Professor in Nursing, then we’d love to receive an application from you!
