Job description:Area of research:
You will be responsible for the exploration and analysis of novel data sources with state-of-the-art computational methods. In particular, we are looking to integrate high-risk high-reward data sources in our data set. You will work independently on exploring and such data sources and develop algorithms and models for their analysis. Access to a network of data generating institutions and their data sets as well as a high degree of independence offer a unique opportunity to develop a scientific career at the interface of data science and public health. You will also contribute to scientific publications and coordinate team and external collaborations. This includes assigning and supervising sub-projects to PhD or Master's students.
Prerequisite:
We expect a PhD in a quantitative field such as physics, mathematics, engineering, or computer science and strong experience in data science and model-based data analysis, as well as basic programming skills.Knowledge of automated workflows is also necessary, as well as knowledge of basic epidemiological modeling approaches. Most importantly, we expect an independent researcher with the drive to push the boundaries of data-driven models in the context of public health data and someone with a basic knowledge of machine learning to help move the entire project forward.

39 hours per week
