Offer Description

Laboratory technician position available in the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS within the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) “Nauka dla Społeczeństwa II”, project No NDS-II/SP/0195/2023/01  entitled ”Breakthrough single cell profiling method for cancer research”  (leader Dr Marcin Tabaka).

We seek a highly motivated and enthusiastic Researcher for a supportive position at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences. The position is part of the project entitled “Breakthrough single cell profiling method for cancer research”, financed by the MNiSW (Ministry of Science and Higher Education). Our laboratory at IPC PAS/ICTER provides an international and interdisciplinary research environment with close links to genomics, single-cell sequencing, molecular biology, biotechnology, and bioinformatics. The project involves profiling of tumor samples using in-house high-throughput single-cell sequencing methods.

Details about the project

The single-cell sequencing approaches allow researchers to uncover rare cell types, reveal the diversity of cell populations, infer the cellular trajectories, and discover their regulatory mechanisms. Recent progress in developing single-cell techniques has enabled us to study complex biological systems and processes simultaneously at multiple layers of gene regulation. Understanding how the gene expression programs are modulated over time in response of cells during disease progression is one of the long-standing challenges. We aim to develop new approaches to comprehensively interrogate the dynamics of gene regulatory elements, and downstream gene expression programs, using state-of-the-art chemical, biophysical, and genomic tools.

About the group: The Computational Genomics Group at IPC PAS led by dr. Marcin Tabaka leverages experimental and computational approaches in high-throughput single-cell transcriptome and epigenome profiling to address fundamental questions in biomedical research (https://tabaka-lab.org).
