Recruitment to Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry. Head of the Laboratory: Dr. Dorota Jakubczyk,
position available for period of one year with possibility of extension to permanent position.
We are a specialised Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry within the Centre for Chemical Biology ERIC at IBCH PAS in Poznań, Poland. We provide expertise and services in the field of medicinal chemistry, including chemoinformatics, the chemical synthesis of bioactive molecules as well as biosynthesis, biocatalysis, semi-synthesis for compounds difficult to synthesise using classical synthetic chemistry, library design and "Hit to Lead" approach for molecule optimization. We want to expand our activities to include data analysis, supported by machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies. Through the Centre for Chemical Biology ERIC we are also an official partner site of the EU-OPENSCREEN-ERIC consortium, which collaborates with users worldwide to identify biologically active molecules and understand their mechanisms of action. I. Requirements for the candidate:
1. Higher education in chemistry, informatics or related sciences.
- Experience and knowledge of chemoinformatics in the context of a medicinal chemistry approach to drug discovery but bioinformatics expertise will be also considered.
- Experience in data analysis, using machine learning tools (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) is required.
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Good communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a team.

II.We offer:
- Full-time employment in a dynamically developing team. We will consider part-time position as well.

Employment for one year (with a three-month trial period), with the possibility of extension to a contract for a permanent position (in accordance with the principles of labour law). Attractive salary: PLN 11,000 -12,000 PLN (gross) with the possibility of bonuses depending on the projects performed.
III. Your responsibilities:
- Optimization of bioactive molecules using medicinal chemistry approach, including:
- chemoinformatic analysis and design
- multiparametric data analysis
- Using machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) tools for project tasks.
- Participation in activities related to the functioning and development of the POL-OPENSCREEN Research Infrastructure, including:
- creation and launch of the Laboratory of Synthetic Biology and Chemical Synthesis
- development of protocols and standard operating procedures
- maintaining the status of ICHB PAN in the EU-OS consortium
- building competitiveness on the international market
- Participation in specialist training.
- Participation in project group meetings and reporting to the project manager and/or lab manager.
- Participation in the creation of scientific publications.
IV. Applications must comprise:
