• ability to read and analyse geological maps;

The Faculty of Archaeology at the University of Warsaw conducts research in the discipline of archaeology both in Poland and abroad (Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America). Particularly significant areas of research include Stone Age archaeology, frontier (limes) archaeology, Mediterranean archaeology, Egyptian and Nubian archaeology, archaeology of the Roman influence period, papyrology and epigraphy, numismatics, South American archaeology, and bioarchaeology.
The range of methods used by WA UW staff is very broad and includes traditional humanities approaches (papyrology and epigraphy, archival archaeology), standard field methods (excavations and surface surveys), geophysical methods (including magnetometry), underwater research, as well as archaeometry (isotopic methods, bioarchaeology, histology).
Numerous research projects are conducted at the Faculty of Archaeology, including those funded by external sources (NCN, ERC, COST, NAWA, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage).

The Faculty of Archaeology at the University of Warsaw is the largest archaeological centre in Poland, offering the widest range of specialisations and academic programs, including unique English-taught archaeology programs (Bachelor’s and Master’s levels) in the country. The curriculum covers, among others, prehistoric and classical archaeology, archaeology of Egypt and Nubia, the Orient, Barbaricum, the Stone Age, textile archaeology, digital archaeology, and bioarchaeology.
The study programs integrate theoretical knowledge with practical experience — laboratory, field, and workshop classes develop skills in GIS, heritage conservation, and excavation analysis.
